The long days of summer are on the horizon – if you’ve already planned where you’ll be heading on your summer holidays, you’ll find the matching style for your destination right here. Or if you’re more of a last-minute booker, we hope we can inspire you to find your next sunshine break!
Spring is all about carefree lightness, bright colours, delicate materials and this year also: dark blue! Yes, that’s right, the dark classic makes lots of colours look much lighter, which means that it’s the perfect contrasting colour to our beloved summery white, for example, without looking too dark and gloomy. So why not relegate black to the back of your wardrobe for the time being?
Can you remember 1970s fashions? When women were wearing blouses with collarbone-bearing necklines and lots of frills? Now they’ve had an incredible revival and are right back on trend! Today’s designs are more simple, but despite the new look they still feature romantic details reflecting the hippie trend, such as embroidery and lace appliqués!
You recently asked your boyfriend when was the last time he took you out for a posh dinner? We thought so! But why not ask yourself when was the last time you wined and dined your best friend?! A good friendship needs just as much commitment as a relationship, after all. So why don’t you both get dressed up and enjoy a meal at your favourite Italian restaurant?
Our two favourite looks? Very delicate, sophisticated and feminine in a lace dress, or casual and light in a maxi-dress for more of a bohemian vibe!
Who better to sob your heart out with at a soppy romantic film than your BFF? Head to your local cinema, make yourselves cosy in the plush red seats and grab a big bag of popcorn. Our top film recommendation at the moment is “A Sense of Wonder” (French title: “Le goût des merveilles”), a rom-com set in Provence.
And we’ve chosen our two favourite looks for this occasion too: either the shirt dress, which can be paired with a scarf and cardigan so it’s cosy enough to snuggle up in while you’re watching the film. Or how about this two-piece? The extra-wide trousers and top with matching minimalist pattern are ultra-comfortable and trendy at the same time, perfect for the cinema!
You arrange to meet your friend on a Saturday morning for a quick coffee, but afterwards you both end up stopping by your favourite boutiques (Shopfinder), before deciding to have one last coffee, which leads to a slice of cake, and then maybe a white wine spritzer. We’re all familiar with those endlessly long Saturday mornings in the city, which usually only end at around 6 o’clock in the evening on our sofa. And days like these are all the better in springtime when we can leave our boots and socks at home and take off our lightweight down jacket in the midday sunshine. So what are you waiting for? Arrange to meet your friend, put on your off-the-shoulder blouse and your favourite jeans and off you go!!
You know that feeling when your mind, heart and wardrobe are full of the joys of spring, but it seems like the weather didn’t get the memo?! But don’t worry – these ten little tips will help you bridge the gap until the first day of springtime and ensure you have a big smile on your face and a spring in your step!
